As part of our range of industrial and commercial cleaning packages, WilkClean Limited also offers specialised de-leading and deep cleaning of indoor rifle ranges.
When undertaking indoor rifle range cleaning, WilkClean Limited take every care to avoid further contamination or explosions by adhering to the schedule described NRA Range Safety Handbook and Chapter 30 of JSP 403 Volume 2.
To clean up lead in a rifle range, wet cleaning methods and HEPA filtered and ATEX rated vacuuming are our chosen methods, avoiding dry sweeping or dusting, and using a range of specialised lead-specific detergents for surfaces and hand cleaning.
All internal surfaces are to be free of dust. Particular care is required to clean out joints in any surface finishes. Mechanical scrubbing machines are particularly effective for use on floors, taking every measure to avoid raising dust during cleaning operations.
WilkClean Limited only uses approved spark free ATEX equipment category 1D with T4 135°C, as there is a Category B Zone 20 hazardous area within the vacuum cleaner itself.
As the deep cleaning contractor, WilkClean Limited is responsible to assess the hazards in a particular range and provide all operatives involved with adequate PPE and instruction in its proper use.
As a responsible contractor, WilkClean Limited will also ensure that tour operatives work in full compliance with the CLAW Regulations for all work undertaken within the range and the Hazardous Waste Regulations regarding all waste disposals from the range.
On completion of the works, we will work with the Range Operator to confirm that all scheduled work has been completed, using swabs to ensure that contaminated dust has been removed.
We will then sign the Range Log to certify that the deep clean has been completed.
